Aside from their stable of classic adventure games like The Secret of Monkey Island, The Day of the Tentacle, and Full Throttle, LucasArts' PC heyday included a slew of really good Star Wars games. This might be hard to imagine for those younger readers who grew up on Pod Racers and, to a certain extent, The Force Unleashed, but the X-Wing and Tie Fighter space combat "sims" were the best examples of their genre for a good long time. And like they are with their classic adventure games, LucasArts may bring the series back.
In an email interview with G4, LucasArts president Darrel Rodriguez hinted at a new X-Wing game by saying that while no announcement can be made yet, one would be made "soon". That's as good as an announcement to me! Mark you calendars, folks! Sure, there's no date here or even an idea of what this X-Wing-related thing might be. So just go ahead and circle the rest of this year and draw a little Wedge Antilles inside.
There you go.
